Dot NAME Domains

Launched in 2001, the Dot NAME generic top-level domain name extension is the sole TLD planned for personal websites only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictitious names, nicknames and/or other labels people are known by. At the beginning, solely third-level registrations were allowed, so if you desired to book john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and second-level registrations were also allowed. Existing third-level domain names remained running.

Through our company, you can buy your .NAME domain for a period between one and ten years. You will be able to alter the WHOIS contact details, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an existing domain to our company if you obtain its EPP transfer key from the present registrar and we will renew it when the transfer has been finalized. There are no special restrictions on who can purchase a dot NAME domain name, but in order to keep the idea behind its creation alive, the .NAME Registry organization may verify who the Registrant is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration could be challenged.

The .NAME top-level extension is one of the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no extra cost. In this way, your .NAME domain will be recognized in your country or region with the accurate spelling in your local language.
